I'm on my way to San Diego today, but did a quick check of my emails to find this
article from one of my favorite blogs,
A Soldier's Mind. A few months ago I made contact with an Indiana National Guard unit that was wrapping up its training at Purdue University. Their job is to deploy to Afghanistan and help establish a viable agricultural presence in the villages. Of course, 85% of Afghanistan is comprised of farming villages, but the Taliban make it nearly impossible for these lifelong farmers to make a living. Spirit of America is looking forward to helping our soldiers as they get our Afghan farmer friends back on their feet.
